Peach Season in Fredericksburg

Fredericksburg and Stonewall peaches are a beloved Texas staple in the summertime.

A typical peach season in the Fredericksburg area takes place mid-May through mid-August, bringing bushels of fresh Texas Hill Country peaches to roadside stands and local restaurant menus.

The summer 2026 Gillespie County peach crop is anticipated to be a moderate season. While peach season typically runs from mid-May through mid-August, be sure to check directly with local Gillespie County orchards and peach stands for current availability. Enjoy the flavors of the season through a variety of local offerings, including jams, baked goods, ice cream, and more.

Peach Trail Route

There's nothing quite like peach season in the Texas Hill Country, and we've made it even easier to experience it. The Fredericksburg Peach Trail is a free mobile pass that helps you discover local peach orchards and roadside stands throughout the area. Whether you're searching for fresh peaches, homemade ice cream, baked goods, jams, salsa, cider, or other peach-inspired treats, this pass is your guide to some of the best stops of the season.

  • Open the pass on your mobile device and start exploring!
  • Please remember that peach availability, hours of operation, and product offerings can change throughout the season.

Peach Season in the Texas Hill Country

Roadside markets along Highway 290 between Fredericksburg and Stonewall and along Highway 87 south of Main Street offer more than 20 varieties of Gillespie County peaches. Many stands are family operations with over 70 years of history, and you'll find homemade cobblers, pies, jams, and ice cream made right on-site. Area restaurants also weave locally grown peaches into their seasonal menus, making summer an especially good time for peach lovers to taste what the Hill Country has to offer.
