Peach Season in Fredericksburg

Fredericksburg and Stonewall peaches are a beloved Texas staple in the summertime. A typical peach season in the Fredericksburg area takes place mid-May through mid-August, bringing bushels of fresh Texas Hill Country peaches to roadside stands and local restaurant menus.

2025 PEACH SEASON UPDATE AS OF April 20, 2025

We’re excited to share that the 2025 peach season in Fredericksburg is shaping up to be a fantastic one. Local growers are anticipating a strong crop, with the first juicy peaches expected to arrive in May. Peach trees rely on "chill hours," which are temperatures at or below 45 degrees during the winter months, to set a healthy crop. While December brought milder weather, January delivered beautifully, helping us close out the dormant season with approximately 700 chill hours. This level of chill is just what we need for a promising peach harvest. Now, we are keeping our fingers crossed for sunny skies ahead and hoping to avoid any late freezes or spring storms. Stay tuned and get ready to enjoy the sweet taste of Hill Country peaches this summer!
