From mid-September through October, local farms, roadside stands, and shops fill up with pumpkins, gourds, and fall décor, with several farms offering both pick-your-own patches and freshly picked pumpkins to take home.

Pumpkin season arrives alongside one of the most active stretches of the fall calendar in Fredericksburg and Gillespie County. Oktoberfest, Texas Mesquite & Fine Art Festival, and the Food and Wine Festival all fall within the pumpkin season window, making late September and October a great time to visit.
