Arts & Culture
In Fredericksburg, we’re perfecting the art of inspiration! Our part of the Hill Country has a long history of inspiring artistic creativity with the rough and rolling landscape, expansive skies and sunlight, and native plants and wildlife. Classically trained artists from Dresden, Friedrich Richard Petri and Hermann Lungkwitz, were among the earliest German pioneers to Fredericksburg, in 1850.
Named among the “Top Five Western Art Towns” by Southwest Art magazine, Fredericksburg has continued its tradition as a gathering place for rich, productive interaction between artists, which in turn draws art lovers and collectors.
