In addition to tons of great pools at Fredericksburg's lodging accommodations, Fredericksburg boasts two public outdoor swimming pool facilities and a splash pad to keep you and your family cool during the heat of the Texas summer.
Tony Knopp Town Pool, just blocks from Main Street, is a cool oasis near the heart of downtown. Located at 105 W. Travis St., the Town Pool includes:
- a large pool with a water slide
- an in-water basketball with a regulation goal
- a separate kiddie pool
- shaded benches
- bathhouses
This kid-friendly pool features a maximum depth of five feet, and a chair lift is available for those with limited mobility.
Town Pool hours are from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. every day except Mondays, during the months of June, July and August. Admission is only $2 per person.
The Town Pool Splash Pad, adjacent to the Town Pool on W. Schubert St., is a great option for younger children and non-swimmers who want to cool off or play, and entry is free. The Splash Pad is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. The bathhouses at Town Pool are available during Splash Pad hours.
Located just a couple miles south of town on Hwy.16, Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park Pool makes a visit to Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park a must-do. Park Pool includes a kiddie pool, leisure pool and lap pool.
- The leisure pool features a beach entrance and a maximum depth of four feet.
- The larger lap pool features marked swim lanes, a diving board and a maximum depth of 10 feet.
- Chair lifts are available for those with limited mobility.
Park Pool hours are from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. every day except Tuesdays, during the months of June, July and August. Admission is only $2 per person.
Park Pool is a great place to cool off after exploring trails at the Fredericksburg Nature Center at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park or playing a round of golf at Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course.
