Best Places To Go Pumpkin Picking In Fredericksburg
It's fall, y'all! And we couldn't be more excited to welcome cooler temps and a new season to the Texas Hill Country.
For a fun, family-friendly outing, visiting a pumpkin patch should be at the top of your list.
Here are some local businesses where you can take the whole family out pumpkin picking:
- Jenschke Orchards offers a pick-your-own patch and already-picked pumpkins beginning September 20 and continuing through October on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only. They also have a corn pile, corn hole games, a Texas-sized jump pillow, wagon rides and a corn maze for $10 admission. Kids ages 5 and under are free.
- Gold Orchards offers a variety of different shapes and sizes of already-picked pumpkins. They are open Friday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. They also are serving up a variety of fall ice cream flavors.
- The Hill Country Herb Garden will open up a pumpkin patch beginning October 11. The patch will provide a spot for photo ops and for taking home your own pumpkin. Pumpkins can be purchased in The Spa or the Marigold shop during regular business hours. On Wednesday, October 30, celebrate at Halloween in The Garden. From 5 to 8 p.m. will have live music from Hunter Billingsley, a kids buffet, mini pumpkin decorating, DIY caramel apple station, a kid's costume contest and apple cider.
- Wildseed Farms is not just for flowers! Beginning in mid-September, the farm has truckloads of pumpkins and gourds – more than 25 varieties – to choose from. The fall photo ops are amazing!
