For those fighting in the Pacific, severe wounds and illness posed constant and often deadly threats. Harsh conditions, limited resources, and tropical diseases made survival a challenge for many service members during the war.
This FREE Outpost program offers visitors an opportunity to learn about medical care and advancements during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Guests can explore real artifacts while gaining insight into battlefield medicine, disease prevention, and the doctors, nurses, and corpsmen whose work saved thousands of lives.
Outpost programs are educational, drop-in experiences held on select Saturdays on the Nimitz Platz at 340 E Main St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. Visitors of all ages are welcome to stop by, ask questions, and engage directly with history.

Happy Birthday Corpsman!
The Corpsman were founded on June 17th, 1898 to provide crucial medical support for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Corpsman have been deployed all over the world, serving on search and rescue teams, in combat zones, and on hospital ships.

Join us this summer for Hands-On History: America 250 Drop-In, a family-friendly program that explores 250 years of American history through the lens of leadership in the Pacific War.
Each day offers a new, engaging activity—mixing history, art, STEM, music, and creative problem-solving—to help families connect with the people and decisions that shaped the Pacific Theater and influenced the nation we know today.

As the Pacific War progressed, Japanese defenses grew increasingly formidable as American forces moved closer to the Japanese home islands. Well fortified positions required new tactics and close coordination between infantry, armor, and specialized weapons.
This FREE Outpost program offers visitors an opportunity to learn how the United States Marine Corps confronted these defenses. Guests can explore real artifacts while gaining insight into battlefield tactics, including the use of tanks, satchel charges, and flamethrowers, with live flamethrower demonstrations highlighting the realities of combat in the Pacific.
Outpost programs are educational, drop-in experiences held on select Saturdays at the Pacific Combat Zone, located at 508 E Austin St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. Visitors of all ages are welcome to stop by, ask questions, and engage directly with history.

Join the National Museum of the Pacific War for a special Father's Day program about our tanks and some famous dads.
Showcasing three of our tanks, guests will be treated to a taco dinner, stories of remarkable tankers and finally learn all about our tanks. The M3 Stuart, M5 Stuart and Japanese Ha-Go will be out on display and guests will get to take pictures with the tanks.

Step into history this summer! In this exciting five-day camp, kids (ages 8–14) will explore the Second World War through hands-on activities, interactive challenges, and real WWII artifacts. Campers will undergo “boot camp," learn about wartime communications, the Home Front, propaganda, spy craft, and more! Through immersive storytelling and innovative activities, history will come to life like never before!
