Fredericksburg has a wide variety of open spaces that are perfect for any outdoor date. Here are a few ideas that are simple, inexpensive, and are suitable for spending time together.

The park utilizes the Texas Parks and Wildlife Reservation System, which provides entry to the park. Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance and spots fill up when the weather is nice. The park will also close when capacity is reached.

The park is open seven days a week and the cost to enter is $8.

Enjoy nature at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park

Ten-plus acres of natural landscape highlight the park. The park features a one-mile walking trail along Live Oak Creek.

The park also includes five outdoor pavilions, perfect for a picnic; softball and baseball fields; basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts for active couples; and fishing.

Immerse yourself in views on Cross Mountain

Take a short hike to the top of Cross Mountain to experience views from 1,951 feet. In 1946, the current and permanent lighted cross was raised. The park also includes spots for a romantic picnic lunch and a short walk around a butterfly garden, lined with plants native to Texas.
