LBJ Ranch District The National Park Service operates the LBJ Ranch, which is an International Dark Sky Park, and offers public access to the ranch, Texas White House, LBJ’s birthplace, Johnson family cemetery, old Junction School, LBJ’s grandparents’ home and ranch show barn. Park rangers and volunteers lead tours from the Hangar Visitor Center through the grounds outside of the Texas White House at 10 and 11 am and 1, 2, 3 and 4 pm. Tours will be offered seven days a week.  The 30-minute guided tours are free, but tickets are required. Tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at the Hangar Visitor Center. Be sure to stop first at the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site for a map and a free driving permit. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TEXAS WHITE HOUSE IS CLOSED FOR RENOVATION UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Johnson City District Located in Johnson City, this National Historical Park offers a Visitor Center with exhibits and films on LBJ and Lady Bird, the Boyhood Home, an education building, and the historic Johnson Settlement.

Notes
  • Additional Info: The park is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. A temporary closure of the Texas White House is in place due to safety concerns arising from structural issues. The self-guided driving tour of the LBJ Ranch is not affected, and the LBJ Ranch hangar is open as normal.
