Overview
George comes out of the 1960s Houston folk scene, sharing songs and stages with Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, and Billy Joe Shaver, and he has spent more than five decades carrying that story driven folk tradition forward.
He has released 15 albums in the US and Europe, earned induction into multiple Texas music halls of fame, and received statewide recognition for his songwriting, recordings, and educational work. His songs have been featured in films and honored by arts organizations across Texas and beyond.
A touring member of the Texas Arts Commission roster, George delivers performances marked by sharp storytelling, lived experience, and expressive fingerstyle guitar.
