Overview

Wild Sage Barn was built in the 1800’s by German immigrant settlers. Originally, it was a two-story barn made of hand-hewed limestone. Renovations added a living area, kitchen and bath. Authenticity of early settlers is found on some of the door frames which has penciled accounts of crop yields in 1892. Built on a ten acre “outlot”, today it maintains the countryside atmosphere, even though it is located a few blocks from Main Street. The master bedroom is a loft overlooking the fireplace in the open living area. It is decorated with primitive furnishings and a queen iron wedding band bed. The cellar serves as the second bedroom with its gun port windows which provided protection from Indians.
