Overview
Our journey to CALIVENCE began 25 years ago when we first fell in love with wine and farming. This journey eventually brought us to Los Olivos in the Santa Ynez Valley, Santa Barbara, California where the winds, cool climate, clay and limestone soil were ideal to plant Bordeaux varietal grapes. In 2019, we planted 4 acres of Bordeaux varietal grapes: cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, petit verdot, malbec and sauvignon blanc. We embraced the philosophy of “regenerative farming practices” by planting 120 olive trees, 70 fruit trees, lavender, French herbs, and a French culinary garden all to create a vineyard with biodiversity encouraging and supporting nature.
