Overview

Behr House is a traditional bed and breakfast offering guests a choice of 5 beautiful room, suite, or cottage accommodations each with its own unique style and décor. Located on just under 5 acres and 1 ½ miles off Fredericksburg’s historic Main Street, the first floor of the main house features the spacious and bright modern farmhouse Great Room common area along with the large farmhouse dining table where breakfast is served. The second floor hosts 4 rooms, two of them suites. One is built with 1900s reclaimed log cabin walls and the other is the loft space from the homestead built in the late 1800s boasting the original long-leaf pine floors. Just across the stone walking path from the main house is the Behr Barn, the 1860s stone barn with loft bedroom which was the first bed and breakfast guesthouse in Fredericksburg (originally known as the Schmidt Barn). Each of the accommodations include a variety of amenities within the rate such as a delicious freshly made breakfast each morning, complimentary cold or hot beverages with afternoon treat upon your arrival, a glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage to enjoy in the evening out on the patio or in front of the fireplace before heading out for dinner in town. Guests may enjoy the Great Room as well as the patio, pavilion, and vast grounds at their leisure.

Join us at Behr House for an intimate evening of culinary storytelling. This exclusive dining experience celebrates beloved traditions, classic techniques, and the stories behind timeless cookbooks.

For our August dinner, guests will gather outdoors on the Garden Patio for a seated five-course seasonal menu paired with carefully curated wines that complement and elevate each dish. Surrounded by one of Behr House’s most beautiful summer settings, the evening invites guests to enjoy exceptional food, wine, and conversation in a warm and refined Hill Country atmosphere.

Hosted every third weekend of the month, this small, in-house gathering is designed for those who appreciate robust seasonal flavors, meaningful connection, and a thoughtfully curated dining experience.

The August dinner will take place from 6:30–9:00 PM, with seating beginning shortly after arrival.

Seating is limited. Advance reservations required.

Please note: Indoor guest areas are reserved for overnight lodging guests. Event guests will enjoy access to the outdoor dinner area and designated restroom facilities.
