The Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau (FCVB) regularly conducts research to better understand and support Fredericksburg and Gillespie County’s tourism and hospitality industry, with the reports below representing a selection of current findings available as free downloads for local, visitor and tourism industry partners.
Recent research topics include detailed findings on Gillespie County visitor personas, such as demographics, household income and origin markets; the local resident sentiment study, which captures community feedback on tourism, stewardship and marketing efforts; winery visitor research; and more. Resident Research
In partnership with Longwoods International, the Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau conducted and completed a resident sentiment survey in May and June 2023, asking for Gillespie County residents’ feedback on tourism, stewardship and marketing efforts. Visitor Research
The last visitor research done by the Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau was conducted by MindEcology in August 2022. The research looked at data submitted by lodging partners to determine the type of people visiting Fredericksburg (includes age, household income, behaviors, etc.) View a PDF of the findings here.

Conference Center Feasibility Study
Through a request for proposals process, the Board of the Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau selected HVS Convention, Sports & Entertainment Facilities Consulting, a firm with offices throughout the world, to conduct a market and feasibility study on a possible conference center in Fredericksburg, Texas, in 2015. The study was funded by lodging occupancy tax collected by the City of Fredericksburg and updated again in 2022.
