Art Galleries
In Fredericksburg, artists, art dealers and collectors have found the perfect home! The Texas Hill Country has a long history of inspiring artistic creativity with the rolling landscapes, expansive skies, stunning sunsets, and native plants and wildlife.
Classically trained artists from Dresden, Freidrich Richard Petri and Hermann Lungkwitz, were among the earliest German pioneers to Fredericksburg in 1905.
Named among the “Top Five Western Art Towns” by Southwest Art Magazine and home to dozens of working artists, Fredericksburg has continued its tradition as a gathering place for rich, productive interaction between artists, which in turn draws art lovers and art collectors.
Fredericksburg is home to more than a dozen art galleries - many of which are located on the West End (west of Marktplatz). Fredericksburg is also home to art studio tours, art schools where both novice and professional artists can perfect their work, and First Friday Art Walk Fredericksburg.
