Our Story

The journey that led to the establishment of Cresta de Fuego began long ago in the distant mountains of southern Colorado. It was there that your host, Julie Herrera, experienced the quiet and remoteness that stirs the soul. While vacationing with her family among the Aspens and mountain air, she had the eureka moment and began to reflect on this source of true rest and rejuvenation.

That trip was the spark that would ignite a dream – a dream to someday share the blessing of peaceful quiet with others.

The dream never died but it would have to wait twenty-two years for another pivotal moment. After inheriting the farm, that had been in her family for generations, Julie, and her husband John, took a leap of faith and brought the dream to fruition.

Today, Cresta de Fuego is your refuge from the noise and complications of everyday life. This is home for the Herrera family and they have taken great care to make it a meaningful place for your escape.
