My fiance and I stumbled upon this property in the summer of 2018 when we were on our way to pick up two of our five children at camp in Kerrville. I asked the bartender at the Albert Icehouse about a sign that said "Albert, Texas - Population 4." He said, "well that was before those people moved away" and pointed at what is now The Albert. When the house remained available a few months later, I took the plunge and purchased it. After 6 months of careful and detailed renovations, the ugly duckling ranch house with good bones became a true gem of the area. We have enjoyed this home as a couple, with our friends, and with our large family for various holidays. It has become a refuge from the city for our family and we love to share it with like minded travellers. In my other life I am a practicing criminal defense attorney in Austin, Texas, a mom to two and step mom to three, and a dedicated culinary traveler with my partner Tom. We enjoy live music, food and wine artisans, spending time with friends and family over thoughtfully prepared meals, and the beauty of the great outdoors. We prefer a slower pace of life and the cultivation of connections with those who share our interests and pursuits. Lastly, we seek to empower, promote, and support all those who call our part of the hill country home and who use their talents to our endless delight. Be it the gourmet sandwich maker, or the distllier, or the wine harvester, or the guitar picker . . . all of these talented folks make Albert and its surrounding area a collaborative and special place.
