Kalasi Cellars, located in Fredericksburg, Texas, is a unique blend of boutique winery, vineyard, and tasting room owned by the husband-and-wife duo, Greg and Nikhila Narra Davis, who serves as the grape grower and winemaker. Our journey began as grape growers at our expansive 140-acre estate vineyard, Narra Vineyards, nestled in the Texas High Plains AVA. We stand as one of the few wineries exclusively producing estate-grown wines. This means that every sip of Kalasi Cellars wine originates from grapes cultivated on our own vineyards.

We firmly believe that the practice of cultivating our own grapes and relying solely on them for winemaking empowers us to craft exceptionally unique wines. Beyond our vineyard, we continue to lead the way in the Texas wine scene. Notably, we proudly hold the title of being the first winery in Texas to acquire an optical sorter, a cutting-edge piece of equipment commonly found in the most prestigious wineries worldwide. This technological addition allows us to elevate the quality of our wines to unprecedented levels in the Texas wine industry.

Situated on over 16 acres of serene Texas Hill Country land at the heart of the Texas wine country, our tasting room and winery are a testament to thoughtful design by the award-winning firm, Cunningham Architects. Conveniently located just 5 minutes from the town center and half a mile off wine road 290, Kalasi Cellars offers a tranquil retreat for wine enthusiasts seeking an exceptional tasting experience.

Our Winery’s Story

Five generations ago, our family embarked on an agricultural journey in India, cultivating a diverse array of crops such as cocoa, coconuts, rice, and turmeric. Fast forward to today, and our family proudly calls Texas home. While we remain deeply connected to our rich heritage, we’ve undergone a transformative evolution, breathing new life into our farming legacy by cultivating wine grapes and crafting exquisite wines.

Our venture into wine grape cultivation took root in West Texas back in 2013, with the establishment of Narra Vineyards. The pivotal moment arrived in 2017 when we embarked on the winemaking journey, marking the inception of Kalasi Cellars’ inaugural vintage. Since then, the years have unfolded a story of growth and innovation. We’ve unveiled our state-of-the-art winery and inviting tasting room in Fredericksburg, and introduced optical grape sorting to Texas. This cutting-edge technology has played a pivotal role in elevating the quality of the wines we proudly produce.
