REMINDER: Election Day November 5
While there are 10 Texas Constitutional Amendments on this year’s election ballot, Texas Proposition No. 5 is a constitutional amendment that will dedicate funds to state and local parks and historic sites. It would be an important piece of funding for some local hospitability partners as it will pay for improvements to state and local parks, help protect wildlife and enhance historic properties, while no new taxes will be required. Congrats to Altstadt Beer on Great American Beer Festival Medals
Recently, Altstadt Brewery took home two medals from the 2019 Great American Beer Festival held in Denver. Altstadt’s Lager and Kolsch were honored with gold medals for brewing excellence at the world’s largest commercial beer competition. The “Gone But Not Forgotten” exhibit at the Vereins Kirche runs from November 4 to January 11. Join Dogologie to help raise money for the Pedernales Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Fredericksburg Dog Park Association and the Hill Country SPCA on Friday, November 8, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Dogologie is extending its hours on Friday evening and 20% of all proceeds will go to these local groups.   • Living History and Fundraising Event at Fort Martin Scott

Join Fort Martin Scott for a Living History and Fundraising Event on Saturday, November 9. From 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., see the 1850s frontier come to life. Enjoy living history featuring military, frontier lawmen, Native Americans and civilians interpreting the fort and early Fredericksburg. Bugle calls, soldier drills, campfire stories, old weaponry and pioneer cooking and crafts take visitors back in time. It’s a fun event for all ages. $5 per person; kids under 12 are free. From 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., enjoy a fun evening and step back in time at a fundraising event that will include a catered dinner, live music and prize drawings.$25 per person.This event will take place next door to the Fort at the Texas Rangers Heritage Center Pavilion.   • Historical and Architectural Walking Tour Continues Wednesday Evening

The Pioneer Museum’s weekly walking tour will continue at the Schandua House at 111 E. Austin St. on Wednesday, November 6, at 4 p.m. and continue every Wednesday through November 20.   • Fredericksburg Fall Farmers Market Happening Thursday Evening

Running through March 31, 2020, the “Rails through Gillespie County” exhibit at the Vereins Kirche will cover the history and lasting impact of the short-line railroad that once connected remote Fredericksburg, Texas, to the outside world before modern highways reached the area. of 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, closed on Sundays and Wednesdays.
