If you're looking for an unforgettable vacation home with an incredible history, look no further than The Outpost. This unique limestone and log cabin was constructed from various military, historical, and first-responder buildings from all across Texas, including The Alamo, Houston Firehouse #7, and the San Jacinto Monument. This truly unique property is only 14 miles away from the heart of downtown Fredericksburg and only eight and a half miles from Enchanted Rock State Natural Area.
Nestled 2,000 feet high on a private mountain top, these 15 secluded acres are all yours to explore since there are no other cabins and no other renters on the property. The surrounding land is undeveloped and open on all sides making it feel like you have hundreds of miles to explore and the sunrises/sunsets are unbelievable. To the east is Enchanted Rock and a beautiful valley – a great place to sit and watch the sunrise. To the west, off the panoramic back porch, is another valley where the sun will rest for the day, but not before lighting up the sky with every color imaginable.
After a day spent wine tasting, shopping, horseback riding, or hiking Enchanted Rock, you can gather around the firepit or use the telescope to stargaze. Kick back in the heated six-person hot tub as you listen to the coyote howl at the sunset. Sip morning coffee on the covered patio and take in views of the Hill Country as you listen to the wild turkeys gobble and watch the deer grazing at the animal feeder. The property’s roadways and trails are ideal for walking, biking, hiking, and ATVing off-property.
This rustic getaway is decorated with numerous military and first-responder artifacts yet also provides all the comforts and luxuries of home. The open floor plan features a welcoming living area with a wood-burning fireplace, TVs, and fun perks that include a telescope, binoculars, many board games, books, and the OUTPOSTBUSTER movie center (a large selection of DVDs). The full kitchen is wonderfully suited for all of your culinary needs.
This family-friendly haven offers a gas grill for afternoon barbecues in the covered barn area, ideal for cookouts, watching TV, and gatherings with the group. A small inflatable pool, fan sprinkler, and portable play yard are available for the kiddos to enjoy the outdoors. Find a cornhole game to play outside, an outdoor speaker system with Bluetooth capabilities, an Alexa Dot, satellite TV, and free WiFi. Even more fun elements of this memorable stay include a patch wall (bring your insignia or patches), a coin challenge, and on-site souvenirs for sale.
