Hunting

The Fredericksburg area of the Texas Hill Country is home to many native and exotic species of animals, which allow sportsmen almost year-round hunting opportunities. White tail deer are the most popular and plentiful quarry pursued by hunters, but there are also turkey, doves and quail. Many ranches in the Texas Hill Country manage their herds to improve the quality and health of the animals. In addition to the native game, exotics such as axis deer, blackbuck antelope, fallow deer, sika deer and feral hogs are abundant.
