Stars and Nights Forever at Enchanted Rock
Jul 04 2019 to Jul 04 2019
No fireworks here, but we’ll still have a light show like no other! From our home sweet home planet, we’ll check out other planets in the solar system. We’ll see stars in our own galaxy and peer at galaxies far far away. We may even catch a glimpse of the center of the Milky Way. As an International Dark Sky Park, Enchanted Rock boasts some of the darkest skies in this part of Texas, which means the stars at night ARE big and bright deep in the heart of Texas. Feel free to bring your own telescope or camera.
Telescope will be set up in the Lower Parking Lot. There is no hiking as part of this program. Please park in the Summit Parking or RV Parking lots. Bring a lawn chair, flashlight (preferably with a red lens; mainly for walk back to vehicle/campsite) and dress for the weather. Note: This event is weather permitting; check our Facebook page for the most up to date information.
9 to 10:30 pm. $7 per person; kids 12 and under are free. *If you are arriving before or after office hours, you will need to use the Self-pay station. The Self-pay station is located at the front door of the office. Self-pay is CASH or Texas State Parks Pass only. Texas State Parks has a NEW reservation system. While we do not require reservations for any events at this time, without a day-use reservation, we cannot guarantee entrance into the park to attend this event.
