“Little Pioneers” Activities at the Pioneer Musuem (May)
May 18 2019 to May 18 2019
The Gillespie County Historical Society and the Pioneer Museum introduce “Little Pioneers”, monthly activities teaching pioneer ways. The activity for May will be “Bugs, Bees & Birds”. As a special treat, we have a beekeeper coming to chat with the kids about her bees, what it takes to keep them happy and healthy, and why that is so important. She will be bringing some of her equipment and will don her special beekeeper suit to show the kids. The museum will also have some kid-sized beekeeper suits for kids to try on themselves!
After hearing all about bees and beekeeping, the kids will also get to make a bird feeder to take home and hang outside. We’ll talk about how important these pollinators are to us and how they make it possible for crops to grow and for us to have grocery stores full of food.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Event to be held on the Pioneer Museum grounds.
10 am. $3 per child and one free admission for the accompanying adult.
