2nd Annual Fredericksburg High School Jazz Festival

The goal of the Fredericksburg Jazz Festival is to reconnect high school students with the cultural value of jazz, while giving them the opportunity to learn from jazz professionals and perform with musical peers from other schools. The day will feature workshops, ensembles and performances by students from 15 Texas high schools.
The evening concert will feature five musicians with credentials that include Grammy Award membership, professors of music, and recording/performing credits with the Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, Asleep at the Wheel, Maynard Ferguson, Cheryl Crow, and many others. Guests artists are Michael Davis, New York-based jazz trombonist; Elias Haslanger, Austin saxophonist; Hank Hehmsoth, voting member of the Grammy Awards; Dr. Utah Hamrick, Director of Jazz Studies at Texas State University; Wayne Salzmann II, Austin-based session and live drummer.
To be held in the Fredericksburg High School Auditorium.
7 pm. $15 adults; $10 students (with ID). Free parking.
