Food & Wine
Fredericksburg, Texas is well known for its juicy summer peaches, award-winning Texas wine and impressive culinary scene - so it’s no surprise that Fredericksburg also hosts dozens of food and wine events each year.
Fredericksburg's signature culinary event - the Fredericksburg Food & Wine Fest - takes place at the end of each October and transforms Marktplatz into a foodie paradise with a celebration of all things Texas food and wine. Live music, cooking demonstrations and specialty booths make this a must-do for any Fredericksburg visitor.
Another can’t miss event is the Fredericksburg Farmers Market that takes place each Thursday in the summer and fall bringing fresh-picked local produce, chef demonstrations & a lively atmosphere to Marktplatz and the Pioneer Museum.
Looking for an elevated wine experience? Otto’s German Bistro and other restaurants host special Vintner Dinners and Texas Wine Country hosts themed wine trails throughout the year.
If you’re looking for a local experience - BestFest takes place each October, where you’ll find all-you-can-eat specialty sausage and German sides at Marktplatz, or the Doss Fish Fry which takes place each September bringing thousands to rural Doss Texas for fried catfish and free beer while you wait or an entire festival dedicated to peaches at the Stonewall Peach Jamboree each June.
There are also plenty of hands-on experiences waiting to be had in Fredericksburg - from grape stomps during grape harvest season each August to hands-on cooking classes at the Fischer and Wieser Culinary Adventure Cooking School at Das Peach Haus to picking peaches in the summer at a local peach orchard, these culinary events in Fredericksburg are sure to be a good time.
