Return of the Mud Daubers
Once upon a time in a land not very far from here, in fact it happened right here in Luckenbach, a tiny mud dauber was making his way from warm Mexico to his home in the cold north.  Suddenly he had a head-on collision with a low flying buzzard.  The little mud dauber suffered a broken wing.  He was looking for a place to land to check out the extent of his injury when he spied a beautiful creek just below him.  He made a courageous spectacular dive into the creek and found the banks of the creek were covered in luxurious mud.
Soon the friendly people of Luckenbach discovered him and nursed him back to health.  The people were very kind and helpful and soon the little mud dauber was able to continue his journey home.
Upon reaching his home he was welcomed by his family and friends.  He told them the story about Luckenbach and how he had recovered from his injury on the banks of beautiful Grape Creek that winds through the tiny town of Luckenbach.  He told them that if they left right away they could reach Luckenbach by Spring.
Today people from all over the globe visit Luckenbach to celebrate the Return of the Mud Daubers, the harbingers of Spring to Luckenbach.
Late Mayor of Luckenbach, Hondo Crouch would make up any reason for a celebration at Luckenbach.  He always wanted to celebrate the invention of plywood but that idea fell thru the cracks.
Join us here at Luckenbach to welcome the Mud Daubers to Luckenbach on March 23rd, 2013.
