Knit in Public Day

About

Join the Wool Brigade and learn how knitting was a patriotic duty during World War I.

Celebrate Knit in Public Day by pulling up a chair at the Sauer-Beckmann Farm and learn how knitting clubs formed throughout the United States to help soldiers during World War I. Try your hand at crafting a washcloth while gathering stories of the home front.

Already a knitter? Bring your own project and join us for some knitting.

We're not 'knit'-picky -- other needle-crafters are welcome, too!

Where: Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm (all visitors must check in at the state park visitor center before coming to the farm)
When: ongoing demonstrations from 10am-2pm
Cost: free!
