Join us for a night hike on our Loop Trail! This easy hike will take brave visitors spider snuffing and scorpion spotting all the way out to our Scenic Overlook, where we will discuss some of the misconceptions about these arachnids and their presence in our constellations.
Starting at sunset, we will be hiking a 1.5 mile section of our Loop Trail out to the scenic overlook while a ranger guides us through the finer aspects of spotting arachnids at night. We'll talk about some common fears and misconceptions about arachnids, and ways to overcome them. Plus, arachnid representation in Greek mythology and the constellations.
Meet: At the Loop Trail Trailhead adjacent to our main campground parking lot.
Bring: Bug spray, water, binoculars, and flashlights.
Cost: Free with park admission. Park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. Day passes can be purchased or reserved ahead of time on our website.
