Current Travel To Fredericksburg

As of December 30, 2020, the shopsattractions and restaurants of Fredericksburg will be open at 50 percent capacity in compliance with Governor Greg Abbott's Executive Order GA-32, while the bars of Gillespie County are required to close.

However, many bars and the majority of the wineries of Texas Wine Country reclassified as restaurants earlier in 2020 and will remain open at 50 percent capacity as well. 

Please confirm operation details with the individual business, restaurant, winery or bar before visiting.

Most hotels, vacation rentals and B&Bs are open in Fredericksburg under the restrictions and guidelines found in The Governor's Report to Open Texas

In all cases, visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and verify operations, including securing lodging accommodations and restaurant reservations well in advance of arrival.

  • Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park - Ranch Unit
    • The LBJ Ranch Driving Tour, Johnson Settlement, and Boyhood Home Grounds are open daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The Hangar Visitor Center at the LBJ Ranch is also now open Wednesday-Sunday; 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and other interior facilities remain temporarily closed.

Recently, Gillespie County bars and the wineries of Texas Wine Country that have reclassified as restaurants are allowed to be open up to 50 percent capacity. Please confirm operation details with the individual winery or bar before visiting.

  • Dietzel Motel
    • Closed until further notice.
  • H-E-B
    • Open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Senior hotline (833) 397-0080 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
  • Natural Grocers
    • From 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sunday, shopping reserved exclusively for seniors, pregnant women and individuals with underlying medical conditions. 
  • Walmart
    • Open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Each Tuesday, those age 60 and older can shop the store one hour before opening.
