Fall is festival season in Fredericksburg, Texas, and one of the highlights is the revamped Fredericksburg Food & Wine Festival, featuring Texas Hill Country wineries and restaurants. This premiere event takes place October 25 – 26, 2024, and includes food and wine pairings, culinary and mixology demonstrations, brewery tastings, and more.

When and Where the Festival Takes Place

The Fredericksburg Food & Wine Festival takes place in historic downtown Fredericksburg at Marktplatz at 126 W. Main Street.

Friday, October 25th, is the Street Dinner featuring five Texas Hill Country chefs paired with five Hill Country wines and cocktails from 6 to 10 p.m.

There are a few events in the morning on Saturday, October 26th. VIP early access to the Grand Tasting Event and Augusta Vin VIP Lounge from noon to 1 p.m. will be followed by the Grand Tasting Event from 1 to 5:30 p.m.

What Vendors Can You Expect? 

The 2024 Fredericksburg Food & Wine Festival features 23 culinary booths where you can savor the diverse flavors of the Texas Hill Country, from elevated barbeque to fresh tacos, lobster rolls, smash burgers, handmade pasta, chocolates, coffee, and more from local restaurants. There are also more than 35 wineries, 15 breweries and distilleries, and specialty offerings such as Joanna’s Market Sundry Shop and the Heath Sparkling Wine Garden. There will also be interactive culinary and wine demonstrations, some yard games, and music.

Know Before You Go

Upon arrival, badge holders will receive a personal wine glass for tasting delicious Texas Hill Country wines, spirits, beers, and ciders. A wine auction takes place in the Grand Tasting Pavilion, so you can bid on your favorite wines as you sip, savor, and support the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce which uses festival proceeds to support charitable organizations in the Texas Hill Country.

There are three levels of entry badges to choose from:

1. General Admission Badge:
Grand Tasting Event at Marktplatz for Saturday, October 26, 1- 5:30 p.m. Cost is $150. This badge includes 15 culinary pop-ups, 30+ wine, beer, and spirits tastings, access to special tasting gardens, the mixology demo stage, and more.

2. VIP Badge:
Grand Tasting Event at Marktplatz: for Saturday, October 26, noon - 5:30 p.m. Cost is $295. The VIP badge includes general admission benefits, early access, use of the Augusta Vin VIP lounge, luxury restrooms, a special gift, and much more.

3. Weekender Badge:
Grand Tasting Event at Marktplatz: Friday, October 25, and Saturday, October 26. This exclusive VIP experience is $595, including all VIP perks plus a seat at Friday night's "Street Dinner," a seat at select demonstrations, and more.

Other special add-ons can be purchased on the festival website's "Tickets & Events" page. These include the Street Dinner, a yoga session, a special brunch, and a free, family-friendly Pasture to Palate event at the Henning lot on Saturday.

The event website offers the option to sign up for a newsletter that will explain parking and transportation options. We recommend you plan and purchase your tickets early, and don't forget to arrange a designated driver.
