Elements Hospitality is sponsoring a six-course dinner on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to support the Culinary Arts Program at Fredericksburg High School (FHS).  All proceeds benefit the educational program.

The dinner menu was created by FHS students with guidance from their instructor Micah Weldon, as well as Chef David Gooch of Swallows Eve.

Students will prepare and serve dinner at the Swallows Eve event center, located at 1411 Lower Crabapple Road in Fredericksburg.

Each course will be paired with a local spirit or wine. Supporting this benefit dinner are Salvation Spirits, Michael Ros Winery, William Chris Vineyards, Airis’Ele Vineyards, and Heath Sparkling Wines.

Other sponsors for the dinner include 5 Roots Farm, Mikey’s Garden, Ben E. Keith and Unifirst.

“We are so grateful to our hospitality partners who are joining us to sponsor this benefit dinner,” noted Travis Tucker, CEO of Elements Hospitality. “The culinary arts program at FHS has grown tremendously in a few short years since Jim Mikula, board member of FlavoryTX and now President/CEO of the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce, lobbied for and worked to implement the program at the high school. Elements Hospitality is delighted to support these students in their quest for a rewarding career in the culinary and hospitality fields.”

A silent auction will raise additional funds for the culinary arts program, which has some 200 FHS students enrolled this year, with another 50 in Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism class.

In addition, about 170 students at Fredericksburg Middle School are in the Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism classes, which provide an orientation and entry point into the hospitality, tourism, and culinary arts career pathway when these students reach the high school level.

Individual tickets for the event are $185. Tables for eight are available for $1,480. Event organizers request that tickets are purchased by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 22.
