Stay Cool In The Pool MAY 28 2019
In addition to tons of great pools at Fredericksburg’s lodging accommodations, Fredericksburg and Gillespie County boast three different public swimming pools to keep you -and your family- cool during the heat of the Texas summer.
The Fredericksburg Town Pool, located just blocks from Main Street, is a perfect oasis near the heart of downtown. Located in the 100 block of West Travis Street, the Town Pool features a kiddie pool, a large pool with a water slide, shaded benches and brand new bathhouses. Town Pool hours are from 1 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. every day expect Mondays, during the months of June, July and August. Admission is only $2 per person.
Located just a couple miles south of town on Hwy 16, Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park Pool makes a visit to Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park a must-do. Park Pool hours are from 1:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. every day except Tuesdays, during the months of June, July and August. Admission is only $2 per person. The new pool is a great place to cool off after exploring trails at the Fredericksburg Nature Center at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park or playing a round of golf at Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course.
Located in nearby Stonewall, the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site pool is a great place to cool off after a day of exploring the Lyndon B. Johnson State and National Historical Parks or adventuring around the Texas Hill Country. The Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site Pool features a large pool, driving boards, shaded picnic tables and bath houses. The Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site Pool in Stonewall is open Wednesday through Sunday, from noon until 8:00 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults (ages 13 and older) and $2 for children ages 12 and younger.
