If you're in the Texas Hill Country for Easter weekend, 2024, hop on over to Fredericksburg for fun and educational ways to celebrate the season. From wildflowers to glass flowers, art exhibits, wine tastings, festivals, Easter egg hunts and more, you will find fun things to on and around Sunday, March 31. 

				Indian Blanket Wildflowers

The fields at Wildseed Farms should be bursting with color this Easter Weekend. The nation’s largest working wildflower farm is located just a few miles from downtown Fredericksburg and will provide the perfect place to take photos of fields of Texas bluebonnets, poppies, and other seasonal wildflowers. Easter Egg Hunts

There will be several Easter egg hunts scheduled on and around the holiday. 

Marktplatz in the Fredericksburg Historic District will host an Easter egg hunt on Tuesday, March 26 from 4-6 p.m. 

On Saturday, March 30, make your way to Pioneer Museum for their annual Easter egg hunt. Gates open at 10 a.m. and it is best to arrive early. The grounds will be sectioned off based on age group. After the hunt is offer, stop and get a photo with the Easter bunny himself and enjoy light refreshments. 


Easter Weekend Events

Learn about German Easter traditions through living history demonstrations at Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farms at Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site. All ages are welcome. Visitors will learn about how to make homemade egg dyes, make grass Easter baskets, prepare a lamb cake and make friendship cards. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

On Saturday, March 30, the Fredericksburg Lions Club will serve up all-you-can-eat pancakes Saturday morning at Marktplatz from 7-11 a.m. 


Spring Events in Fredericksburg

Throughout March and April, including Easter weekend, Wildseed Farms will hold their Wildseed Celebration. Flowers will be in bloom and guests can enjoy the butterfly gardens, watch hummingbirds and shop for garden essentials and gifts. Grab a bite to eat in the Brewbonnet Biergarten and taste wine. There is plenty to see and do at the nation's largest working wildflower farm.

Daily from March 25-April 19, pay a flat fee and experience the Wine & Wildflower Celebration. Several Texas Hill Country wineries offer samples of award-winning wines all while taking in breathtaking views. 

Recurring on Sunday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, including on Easter weekend, the Fredericksburg Art Guild will host their Spring Art Show. Members will showcase a variety of styles and mediums, including oils, acrylic, encaustic, mixed media, water color and photography. Open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. for viewing. 

On Good Friday, March 29, test your glassblowing skills during "Hot Glass and Warm Hearts." Presented by Enchanted Fredericksburg Glassblowing, you'll pick colors and learn how to turn molten glass into beautiful flowers. You'll even get the choice for a glass of sparkling wine or non-alcoholic bubbly after the completion of the lesson. This 75-minute session takes place from 3:15-7:30 p.m. Cost is $275.
