Springtime will soon be arriving in Fredericksburg, Texas. Throughout the month of March, Fredericksburg has plenty of events and family-friendly activities planned. 

Browse below for all the kid-friendly fun in the Texas Hill Country over the next month. If you need more information, head to the Visitor Information Center when you arrive in town for a free kid's activity book.

Insider Tip: As one of Fredericksburg's most popular attractions, Enchanted Rock State Natural Area requires advance reservations to enter. Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance and often sell out during peak visitation times. Browse the Texas Parks & Wildlife Reservation System for the next available time. 

  • Enchanted Fredericksburg Glassblowing will be open daily, March 9-16. Demonstrations will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no cost to watch demonstrations. Experiences, open to ages eight and older, will take place from 3:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily.   • Monday through Saturday, March 11-16: Spring Break at the Pioneer Museum will feature living history reenactments including chuckwagon cooking, blacksmithing, tomahawk throwing, frontier living, husk and knot doll making, butter churching, music and storytelling. 
     
  • Texas Wine Country Jellystone Park will host Water Zone from March 9-March 17. From 10 a.m.-6 p.m. families can enjoy the water park at the RV Park. On Saturday, March 16 from 7-10 p.m., there will be a DJ, lights, fog machine and fun. Cost is $24.95 per person.

  • See a full list of events taking place at Enchanted Rock during spring break. A day pass is required for entry to events. 
     
  • Enjoy the great outdoors and participate in a half marathon, 10k or 5k at the 2024 Scallywompus Wanderlust run.
     
  • Friday through Sunday, March 15-17: Fredericksburg Trade Days. Shop with more than 350 vendors in seven barns and acres of antiques, collectibles, tools, crafts, ranch furniture, hunting accessories, clothing, jewelry, and more. Live music is also offered. The $5 parking fee is good for the entire weekend.

  • On Saturday, March 16, participate in the 13th annual Mud Dauber Festival and Chili Cook-off. Taste chili and enjoy live music at Luckenbach Texas. 
     
  • Learn the art of spinning yarn at Pioneer Museum on Saturday, March 16. Museum admission required.
     
  • The National Museum of the Pacific War presents Outposts: Seabees on March 16. This program will feature information on sailors who were tasked with building roads, posts and airstrips. Free admission. Programs are at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Pacific War Combat Zone. 
     
  • The City of Fredericksburg's Parks and Recreation Department will be putting on a special coin hunt for St. Patrick's Day on Sunday. March 17. Head to one of the city's playgrounds to hunt for hidden green coins. 9 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. at various pl
     
  • March 21: The City of Fredericksburg will host the 5th Open House and Touch-A-Truck event at Marktplatz from 3-7 p.m. Learn about city projects and check out a variety of equipment. 
     
  • Feel the heat at Enchanted Fredericksburg Glassblowing's Hot Glass and Warm Hearts event Friday, March 22. Create glass flowers and a heart. Cost is $225 per session and sessions begin at 3:15 p.m.
     
  • Becker Vineyard's annual Bluebonnets, Bluegrass and Barbecue will take place Saturday and Sunday, March 23-24. Listen to bluegrass, enjoy Becker wines and eat great Texas barbecue. No admission charge. Barbecue plate tickets sold at the door until sold out. 
     
  • March 23: Hill Country Indian Artifact Show will be held at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park. Cost is $5 and children under 14 are free.
     
  • March 24: Wags and Wine at Texas Wine Collective. Bring your four-legged friend for an afternoon of wine, music and fun. This family-friendly event will run from 12-5 p.m. and will feature adoptable pets from the Hill Country SPCA.
