Hike, Bike & Run the Texas Hill Country This Spring FEB 05 2019
A number of hiking, running and cycling events are planned in Fredericksburg and Gillespie County this spring. Lace up your running shoes and get your favorite bike ready for these outdoor events:
The ‘Burg for Bach! Run is a 5K run, benefiting the Hill Country Youth Orchestras, which will take place at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park on Saturday, March 23, at 9:00 a.m.
The 12th Annual LBJ 100 Bicycle Tour will kick off with 10 to 62 mile rides across the Texas Hill Country, starting and ending on the famed LBJ Ranch, on Saturday, March 30, at 9:00 a.m. on the air strip at the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park in Stonewall, Texas.
The Outlaw Half Marathon and 5K will take place in Luckenbach Texas under big blue Texas skies and on scenic country roads on Saturday, April 6, at 8:00 a.m. Enjoy live music and a cold one after the run. Participants of the run must be at least 12 years old.
The Wanderlust Half Marathon, 10K and 5K is race No. 3 of 4 in the Texas Hill Country Series Challenge. Enjoy city, country and residential areas of Fredericksburg. Race starts at Marktplatz at 8:00 a.m. on April 6.
The Fredericksburg Wildflower 5K & 10K Run/Walk will begin and end in downtown Fredericksburg at Marktplatz, with scenic routes in and around town, on Saturday, April 27, at 8:30 a.m.
The St. Francis Xavier Church 5K Rosary Run features exercise, prayer and fellowship. Enjoy a beautiful Texas Hill Country run along the Pedernales River on Saturday, May 4, with registration at 7:00 a.m.
The Texas Flower Country Women’s 5K/10K through the wildflower fields at Wildseed Farms will take place Saturday, May 11, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Enjoy a post-race champagne brunch, craft beer, free massages and live music.
