For a third consecutive year, Fredericksburg was recently named “Best Small Town in Texas” by Southern Living. The magazine's readers ranked the Texas Hill Country town, which is at the heart of Texas Wine Country as the sixth-best small town in all of the South.

The April 2020 “South’s Best” rankings highlighted that Fredericksburg is “loaded with shops, galleries, and boutiques (around 150), plus restaurants, breweries, and wineries.”

Southern Living also noted that “no chain stores are allowed in the Historic District, so no worries about cookie-cutter shopping" and that "the town’s German roots are reflected in its architecture and biergartens.”

With more than 400 events and festivals throughout the year that showcase Fredericksburg’s spring wildflowers, summer peaches, fall festivals and winter holiday traditions, it is always a good time to visit town.
