Food Handler’s Course this Tuesday
A food handler’s course accredited by the Texas Department of State Health Services is being offered by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service at its offices at 95 Frederick Road in Fredericksburg this Tuesday, March 20 (tomorrow) from 2:00-4:00 p.m. The two-hour course is a basic overview of food safety practices that are necessary to ensure that safe food is served at eating establishments and is recommended for all food service employees. Cost is $20 per person and must be paid in full before the course begins. An online course is also available in English and Spanish. For details and to register, call 830-997-3452.
Texas Lutheran University Choir performing at the Sheep Barn at Mansefeldt Ranch on Friday

Artspring 2012 Special Event at InSight Gallery this Saturday Evening

Wings Of Freedom Tour starts this Friday and runs through next Monday
The Wings of Freedom Tour returns to Fredericksburg this Friday, March 23 until Monday, March 26 at the Gillespie County Airport. In its 23rd year of demonstrating the beauty of flight in a B-series bomber or fighter aircraft, this event offers walk-through tours of the aircrafts (P-51 Mustang, B-17 Flying Fortress, B-24 Liberator and Huey Helicopter). Cost is $12 for adults/$6 children age 12 and younger. Flight experience pricing varies, and flight training will also be available. For more information, call 800-568-8924.
LBJ 100 Bicycle Tour this Saturday
The 5th Annual LBJ 100 Bicycle Tour will be held this Saturday, March 24 at the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park on Hwy 290 near Stonewall. Routes are from 10 miles to 85 miles long along scenic Hill Country roadways. Gates open at 7:00 a.m. and the staggered start is at 9:00 a.m. And, as in previous years, Presidential first daughter Luci Baines Johnson will lead a tour of the historical landmarks on the ranch at 2:30 p.m.
Fredericksburg Wine Road 290 “Vino & Pasta” is this Saturday
Visit the 10 participating wineries along Fredericksburg Wine Road 290 for Vino & Pasta – a full day of wine tastings paired with pasta prepared by some of the area’s finest restaurants – this Saturday, March 24. This event is free, but some tasting fees may apply. Check participating winery websites for individual wine tasting fees and tasting room hours.
Luckenbach Texas celebrating Mud Dauber Festival & Chili Cook-off this Saturday
The annual return of the mud dauber insects is cause to celebrate in Luckenbach Texas, and this Saturday, March 24, the whole town will put on its annual Mud Dauber Festival & Chili Cook-off starting at noon. It’s an afternoon of merriment, and everyone is welcome. That evening, singer Charlie Robison will perform at a dance (cost: $20) beginning at 9:00 p.m. in the historic dance hall. Spring Break numbers at the Fredericksburg VIC
From March 10-18, the Fredericksburg Convention & Visitor Bureau welcomed well over 3,300 visitors through its doors at the Fredericksburg Visitor Information Center at 302 E. Austin Street, where employees answered questions, distributed area collaterals and shared their love for this community.
