Marvel at the Moon at Enchanted Rock

Take a closer look at our nearest celestial neighbor! Discover the stories and science behind our largest satellite – the moon! Peer through a telescope at the surface of the moon, learn how its craters formed and hear ancient stories. Meet along the Summit Trail, just past the Gazebo. Please no flashlight or cell phone use during this event (it can take 20-30 minutes for our eyes to adjust from bright light to darkness). Red-tinted lights are permitted. You might want to bring a lawn chair. The event is weather permitting; check the Facebook page for up-to-date information.
8:30 to 10 pm. $7 per person; kids age 12 and under are free. No additional fee for event and no need to pre-register. If you are arriving before or after office hours, you will need to use the Self-Pay station. The Self-Pay station is located at the front door of the office. Self-Pay is cash or Texas State Park Pass only.
