Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park
LBJ Ranch District
The National Park Service operates the LBJ Ranch and offers public access to the ranch, Texas Whitehouse, LBJ’s birthplace, Johnson family cemetery, old Junction School, LBJ’s grandparents’ home and ranch showbarn. For a free ranch driving permit, visit the LBJ State Park Visitor Center between 9AM and 4:30PM. Guided NPS ranger tours of LBJ’s office and home are offered from 10AM to 4:30PM for $3. PLEASE NOTE: The LBJ Ranch will be closed for public tours for at least four days in November due to a critical historic preservation project. Beginning on Monday, November 6, and continuing through at least November 9, 2017, the home will be closed so that work can be completed on the living room ceiling. Depending on the rate of progress, the home may be closed even longer. Updates will be available by calling the LBJ Ranch Hangar Visitor Center at 830-644-2396. All other park facilities will be open to the public during this closure.
