New in Fredericksburg: Historical and Architectural Walking Tour APR 10 2017
The Pioneer Museum recently debuted a new walking tour of Fredericksburg that’s perfect for any history buff looking for a little adventure.
Starting at the Schandua House at 111 East Austin Street, the two-hour walking tour explores Fredericksburg’s West End and covers areas not normally available to visitors. Guided by Fredericksburg natives, learn about the origins of German immigration to Texas, hear about the original buildings and their inhabitants, and learn the basics about the architectural style used by the early immigrants.
The tour is offered every Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. through May 31. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. There are rest stops along the way and water is provided, though the tour is not recommended for small children. Click here to buy tickets online, or visit the Pioneer Museum at 325 West Main.
