Foodies rejoice- there are tons of great food-centric events and festivals in Fredericksburg this year! Here are a handful that you definitely shouldn’t miss:
5th Annual Film Affäre. Enjoy a culinary adventure through film during the Hill Country Film Society’s Film Affäre on Friday, March 3, at the Hoffman Haus. Guest speaker Tom Provost- award winning filmmaker, Pepperdine University film professor and food blogger- will guide the 5-course meal, prepared by Otto’s Executive Chef Judd Wood and paired with Pedernales Cellars wines, using short clips from a wide genre of films.
Luckenbach Mud Dauber Rock ‘n Billy Chili Fest. Sample delicious chili as teams battle for the gold during the Luckenbach Mud Dauber Rock ‘n Billy Chili Fest on Saturday, March 18. Grab your chili tasting kits and enjoy live music by Billy Joe Shaver, The Tejas Brothers, Whitney Rose, Ruby Dee and the Snake Handlers and more.
Best of Texas Food and Wine Festival and Polo Match. The weekend-long Best of Texas Food and Wine Festival will begin the evening of Friday, march 31, with a “Battle of the Chefs” dinner on the grounds of the Pioneer Museum in downtown Fredericksburg. Saturday, April 1, starts with a 5K “Texas Hill Country Bier Run.” The Best of Texas Tasting Festival kicks off at 11 a.m. on Saturday on the grounds of the Pioneer Museum with live music, art exhibits, food and alcohol tastings and more. The weekend concludes on Sunday, April 2, with the Victory Cup “Bluebonnet” Polo Match between the Texas Tech polo team and alumni of the polo team on the grounds of the Hill Country University Center in Fredericksburg, followed by a farm to table dinner. American Chuck Wagon Association National Championship Cookoff. Grab a plate of tasty traditional chuckwagon fare- chicken fried steak, potatoes, beans, bread and dessert- from one of the chuck wagon teams during the American Chuck Wagon Association National Championship Cookoff at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds on Saturday, April 1. Limited tickets are available, so purchase your tickets in advance here.
Texas Wine Revolution. Showcasing the beauty of Texas grown wines, the annual Texas Wine Revolution event will feature more than 25 Texas wineries, winemakers and their 100% Texas grown Rosés with tastings, live music, local eats, VIP seminars and more at Featherstone Ranch on Sunday, April 2.
4th Annual Hill Country Food Truck Festival. Returning to Luckenbach on Saturday, June 24, the 4th Annual Hill Country Food Truck Festival will feature approximately a dozen regional food trucks, Texas Hill Country Wineries, Texas craft beers and a full lineup of live music.
