6 Ways to Enjoy Peach Season in Fredericksburg
  1. Pick your own peaches- It’s one thing to tuck into a basket of juicy, sweet Fredericksburg peaches, but picking them yourself first is a whole other experience in and of itself. Head to one of our local orchards, pick some peaches, ripened and warmed in the sunshine, and savor a job well done as peach juice runs down your chin and forearms. Yum!
  2. Cool off with peach ice cream from Engel Orchard- Beat the summer heat with homemade peach ice cream from Engel Orchard! It’s the perfect cool treat on a hot summer day.
  3. Enjoy peach cobbler at Clear River Pecan Company- Stop in at Clear River Pecan Company on Main Street for lunch and a summery sweet treat of peach cobbler! They have delicious peach ice cream as well, if that’s more likely to satisfy your sweet tooth.
  4. Visit Das Peach Haus- Tour the grounds, see the peach orchard out back and taste the Fischer & Wieser jams, jellies and other tasty products at Das Peach Haus.
  5. Shop at the Fredericksburg Farmers Market- Shop like a local and find some locally-made products and delicious fresh produce- peaches included- at the Fredericksburg Summer Farmers Market at Marktplatz every Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  6. Celebrate at the 55th Annual Stonewall Peach Jamboree- Drive out to nearby Stonewall for the 55th Annual Stonewall Peach Jamboree and Rodeo on Friday and Saturday, June 17 and 18. See the crowning of the Peach Queen, a peach-themed parade, enjoy delicious food, great live music and a family-friendly rodeo.
