In-Town Hill Country Bike & Wine Tours SEP 08 2014
Biking Fredericksburg isn’t just for the pros or hard-core cyclists. Thanks to Hill Country Bike & Wine’s new “in-town” wine tours, the casual rider can enjoy a leisurely ride through Fredericksburg with stops for wine tastings, nibbles and a little Texas Hill Country history.
The new in-town cycling tours start at Jack and Adam’s Bicycles on Lincoln Street and cover about five miles of Fredericksburg. The tours include stops at downtown tasting rooms, like Grape Creek on Main and Fiesta Winery, as well as for sweet treats like chocolates filled with Texas Wine or liquor at Chocolat Quintessential Chocolates. In addition to the tasty breaks, the tour includes historic stops at the Vereins Kirche, historic homes and Sunday houses.
In the future, tour adventurers can expect to see First Friday Art Walk themed tours which include stops at art galleries where riders can soak up Fredericksburg’s bustling arts scene and sip a little Texas wine. And if you decide to purchase anything during your ride- like a case of wine, a bronze sculpture or a new contemporary painting- the “chase car” will be following along to conveniently haul your goodies for you.
