The Texas Hill Country was named one of the “10 Best Wine Travel Destinations in 2014” by Wine Enthusiast Magazine in its February print edition and online.

So how can you explore the one of the 10 Best Wine Travel Destinations? By visiting Fredericksburg! Fredericksburg’s central location, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, makes Fredericksburg the ideal focal point for exploring the Texas Hill Country wine region.

With some 900 bed and breakfasts, guesthouses and inns, along with a number of hotels and motels in Fredericksburg, it’s easy to find the perfect lodging for your Texas Hill Country wine adventure.

And exploring the wineries is easy- Fredericksburg and Gillespie County are home to nearly 40 of the Texas Hill Country’s wineries. Visit tasting rooms along Fredericksburg’s historic Main Street which also boasts more than 150 shops and boutiques, then head out Fredericksburg’s Wine Road 290, which boasts more than a dozen wineries between Fredericksburg and Johnson City.

And if you’d rather not navigate the wineries on your own, Fredericksburg is home to a number of wine tour companies that offer full and half day wine tours in the Texas Hill Country.
