Texas Independence Day Celebrations FEB 26 2013
Texas Independence Day is March 2. It’s the celebration of the adoption of the Texas Declaration of Independence on March 2, 1836, which created the Republic of Texas.
Come have an authentic Texas experience with us in Fredericksburg:
- Original Texas Star Trail Ride kicks off Friday, March 1, runs through March 9: Ride horseback or in covered wagons through Hill Country ranchlands. The 112-mile ride is a full re-enactment of a wagon train that came through the Texas Hill Country during its initial settlement. The trail retraces some of the original wagon tracks left by early travelers.
- First Friday Art Walk Fredericksburg on Friday, March 1: Celebrate art with a Texas twist as Fredericksburg galleries celebrate Texan artists, showcasing Texas themes, landscapes and wildlife.
- Texas Independence Day Celebration at Luckenbach on Saturday, March 2: Watch with pride as the Former Texas Rangers perform the solemn Texas Flag Retirement Ceremony in Luckenbach Texas at high noon. Welcome the Original Texas Star Trail riders at 4:00 p.m., where they’ll settle down for the night. And music, of course, will be playing throughout the day.
- Texas Independence Day Celebration at Pedernales Cellars on Saturday, March 2: If sipping Hill Country wine and watching cooking demonstrations are more your style, head out to Pedernales Cellars. Picnic with your family as you enjoy hayrides and hourly cannon firings.
