Tee Off for a Day of Fun and Shopping AUG 29 2011
Love to shop? Love to help kids? This one is for you. The Boys and Girls Club of Fredericksburg is sponsoring the 8th Annual Shopping for a Cause on September 9-10.
Foursomes of costumed, fun-loving friends gather in Fredericksburg for “competitive” shopping. Each team pays a registration fee and then at the end of the day prizes are awarded based on the total amount of purchases each team has made from participating stores in Fredericksburg. Nearly 30 teams are signed up as of August 26th, including the Rockport Seagals, the Visa Divas and the Bag Ladies. It is not too late to register!
This year some 20 shops and boutiques are participating in the tournament. On Friday, September 9, preview parties are held at some of the participating merchants. Saturday, September 10, begins with Tee Time Breakfast, followed by the shopping tournament. The day ends with the 19th Hole Party.
All proceeds go to help fund the operations of the Boys and Girls Club of Fredericksburg, whose mission is to empower all young people to reach their full potential as responsible, caring and productive citizens.
